Breslau

Usually, city names sound similar in different languages. Berlin, London, and Delhi sound almost the same in German, English, or Russian. So when we decided to visit Breslau during the autumn school holidays, I was surprised to learn that this name exists only in German — in English, Polish, and Russian it’s called Wrocław.

BG in Dresden

I remember back in school, I often borrowed books and CDs with music from my classmates. In 7th grade, one of those CDs was the Navigator album by BG. At that time, there was no Spotify to suggest similar music after the album ended, so I listened to this Boris Grebenshikov album about fifty times. […]

One year of the War

It’s hard to forget the morning of Feb 24, 2022 in Kyiv. The loud burst, the noise of neighbours dashing around the apartments, BBC web site with news about Russian invasion to Ukraine. Kikabidze

One of my favorite movie is an old Soviet comedy Mimino. I’ve seen it dozens of times and know each line by heart. And of course I am in love with the main character – Valiko Mizandari, honest and kind pilot who dreams about international flights. Valiko was played by Vahtag Kikabidze, who took part […]
