Stuttgart

When we book the hotel and got itinerary next step was to choose where to go with kids. And it was the first unplesant surprise – there are two auto museums in the city: Mercedes and Porsche, but after BMW museum we were reluctant to go there. And aside these two destinations we found nothing interesting for family visit. And in one word – Stuttgart is an ordinary city.

However, we need some place to go, so we decided to visit the Zoo and walk around city center. Therefore, we didn’t have any high expectation about the city. But we underestimate it.

The first thing you will see in the city – is the ruined main railroad station. They ruined it in 2010 and now is planning to build a new one in 2025 (in 15 years!!!). So, if you are in luck and didn’t confused with horrible signes you can reach the subway in half an hour. At first it took us 2 hours. So, first impression was not very good, even afer visiting beergarten near the station.

At the Zoo the temperature was +32 degrees celcius and only seal feels wonderful. All other animals were hiding in the shadow away from visitors’ eyes. And pinguines looked horrible with open beaks, suffering from heat and stones that boys were throwing into them.

City center looks like a one big shopping area. If you have ever been on Prager strasse in Dresden, you can clame that you saw Stuttgard city center. The only place that worth seeing and authentic is Schlossplatz with a lot of sculptures, foutains and New Palace built in 18th century.

All in all, if you are passing by the city, you can walk around it. But I would not recomment to go there for the sake of the city itself. If you are not a Porsche fun, of course!
