Last month I switch from my ticket around Dresden to Deutschland Ticket and now I can travel around Germany as much as I want for the same price. However, my family could travel with me only around Lower Saxony Area. But so far we have plenty places to visit. This weekend we have been in the garden around Pillnitz Castle. Kids are not a big fans of going through old buldings where you are not allowed to touch anything, so we didn’t go inside.
Building of the castle began in 14th sentury. In 1694 complex was bought by Saxony’s Ellector and rebuilt by Augustus II the Strong. Currently, complex consists of three main buildings, the Riverside Palace Upper Palace and Neoclassical New Palace.
But as I said we stayed outside and walked around huge garden. In the garden there are a lot of exotic plants and trees. The best part is that for all of them provided placards with names and countries of origin. If you are looking carefully you can find under the trees some wild strawberries and help yourself with it
It’s also a very beautiful fountains and ponds in several places around the garden. You can see there tiny goldfishes and huge carps slowly swimming across the water. And of course there are many sculptures in perfect conditions
Overall, if you want to spend a day outside and enjoy beautiful garden, Pillnitz is a perfect place to do so
