On this week I passed the final exam at Bonds course and got my certificate from Coursera. This course, to be honest, was just a waste of time. Prof. Stolyarov just read the basic things about bond types and focused the entire course on solving problems about bond pricing and yield to maturity values.
To make things worse, professor did not even mentioned that bonds prices are in percent from nominal value.
What was really irritating is that problems were related in a vague manner and it took a couple of tries for each test to get the meaning. The forum was a really big help to solve these puzzles.
What I really wanted to get from course was how to evaluate risk for each company issued bonds. But he just mentioned rating agencies what I’ve already knew from previouse cource.
I hope next course about investing in stocks would be better.
