The Jelly-Bean

I’ve just finished listening an audiobook The Jelly-Bean by Scott Fitzgerald. I took it from the library at Litress and was surprised that it was not available when I searching for a new book, but after a request it was provided to me in couple hours.

The story is one of the Tales of the Jazz collection. Author describes borring life of Jim Powell who need to work hard to foot his bills. That is why Jim stayed away from parties and social activities until his friend invitedd him for a party.

There he met a girl Nancy Lamar that was very popular among the the men there. Jim helps her to get rid of the chewing gum from her shoes using gasoline and was awarded for that by her kiss. During the party Nancy got drunk and lost more money she had in a dice game. To pay her debt she wrote a check although she had not money on bank account.

Lately that night she announced that she in love in Jim (jelly-bean) but on the next day she married another man to rectify this incident with unpaid check.
