Deutsch

There’ve been a one year this week since I started learning german language. We planned to visit Germany in Sept 2019 and I decided to learn couple phrases. I tried couple apps until installed Duolingo.

One month later I had a job interview in a company AMTES GmbH, my current employee with headquarter in Leipzig. So I decided that german would be useful for me and keep practicing even after the trip.

However, month ago I decided to take a german proficiency test on some website. And realised that I could not pass even A1 (beginner) level. Duolingo suggested me to learn some phrases with minimum explanation but I could not even ask for a menu in restaurant after a year of practise.

So, I decided to made some changes and tried another app – Busuu. I installed it a month ago and realized that free version is very limited and is not enough for nice learning.

Though subscpiption is not very expensive. For about 250 rouples per month you get an accecc to all of their courses. I like the way they explain grammar and give plenty of examles for new words. However, their in-build tool to memorize words is quite poor, so I use Anki app to repeat phrases and words.

Though I am thinking a lot to modify my own english-for.us site and add there german language to memorise words in more convenient way.

I’m going to take another A1 test at the end of the month and write about the results. But according to my personal feelings new way of learning is much for efficient. Ich studiere deutsch gerne!
