Move to Poland

After escaping Ukraine we lived in Moldova, partly in the capital Chisinau, partly in the lovely countryside, where I had chance to use wooden oven and walk a lot among the vineyards.

After Moldova we set off to EU. My company decides to gather all engineers scattered around the Europe to a single country – Poland. The easiest and shortest way lays through Ukraine. So we were forced to to around and had a really long trip.

Our first country we crossed was Romania: very beautiful and hilly country. People there were really nice. In hotel they bring us extra plate with cheese and sliced meet for free when they realized that we are moving from Ukraine.

We crossed it in two days and had a week stop in Budapest. After rural Moldova it is very vibrant, noisy and overcrowded city. But very beautiful indeed. With castles, bridges over Danube, and marvelous city center.

After the rest we crossed Slovakia, Czech Republic and reached Poland on Apr 2. We stayed in Częstochowa for one night and were surprised to find that they still use coal as a source of energy and wearing after the walk smells with smoke. Town itself was very quite and peaceful.

Final destination – Gdansk – we reached on Apr 3 and settled down in complex Aviator. Everything around is decorated with planes to remind me that I’m here to work.
