During the weekend we saw Ford v Ferrary movie with Matt Damon. Although the movie is two and a half hours long, it keeps your attention all that time.
Plot of the movie is about another variation of American dream: if you work hard, you can achieve whatever you want, even to beat Ferrary on the European soil.
It all begins in sixties, when Ford Motors company faced a decline in car sales. And they decided to promote their brand among young people by participating in races. At first they wanted to buy Ferrary business, that has a financial problems. However Italian producer angrily refused the deal and deeply offended Ford CEO, the son of the Ford’s founder).
As a result, Ford kicked off their own project to create the fastest car. They hired Carroll Shelby (Matt Damon) to lead the development and Carroll hired Ken Miles (Christian Bale to drive new car. So they both began their long way to the main 24 hours race in Le Mann. Carroll was fighting bureaucrats from Ford company that constantly tried to sease the control over the project and Ken fighting with physical limitations of the new car.
During the finall race Ken was able to lead the race but Ford CEO following the advises of his managers ordered Ken to slow down and cross the line with other Ford’s cars participating that race
