We planed to travel on vacation to Kainingrad city, however things change quickly with this coronavirus outbreak, so we decided to go to a countryside instead. So we found a house at the bank of Seliger Lake and went there on March 22.
On our way to the Mogilevo village we made a stop in Tver to buy some food and have a lunch and were very surprised to find a high rated restaurant virtually empty. All waitresses were wearing gloves and antibacterial napkins were provided on the tables.
After the toll road to Tver, road to Mogilevo was horrible. Pitted asphalt road ended after one hour drive and the rest of the trip we followed the dirt road.
Mogilevo is full of run-down houses mixed with newly built ones for rent
The nearest grocery store is one and a half hour away, the nearest pharmacy is even further. Although, on a regular basis truck with food and some household goods arrives there.
To put aside poor infrastructure, nature there is beautiful, we made barbecue, walked around the village and fed numerous cats
At the end of vacation ice on the lake started thowing and I tried to catch some fish but with no success. Looks like it’s too early for fishing.
I don’t think that I would venture for another trip to this location on our VW Polo, however we considered to visit similar place with better roads to it.
