Stress report requires a high standard of readability and neetness for submission to the certifying agency. The report should be written in the third person and the writer should place himself in the position of unfamiliar person who will be reading and checking the report.
Calculations
- all repetitious and simple calculations should be omitted
- one sample calculation may be shown and the ramaining results summarized in tabular or graphical form
- show computer results of structural allowables, section properties, etc.
Checking
Report should be reviewed by independent checker to catch errors
- signs of loading
- numerical calculations
- correct method of analysis
- completeness of coverage
- readability
Sketches
Sketches should be kept to the absolute minimum that will fulfill the following requirements:
- describe the parts
- show location on airframe
- show type of loading and reactions involved
- identify all parts by rdawing number
- show dimensions are to be used in the analyses
- show no more than necessary
References
References in formal stress analysis shall be approved by certifying agency or company's project office.* describe the parts
