Nominative Case

"Der Nominativ" (nominative) is the basic form of a word, just as it is found in the dictionary.

When someone or something is 'doing' the action, we use the nominative case. We call that the subject of a sentence.

Der Mann arbeitet. (The man is working) A subject usually consists of two or more words, but can also be the name of a person!
