On this week I passed the final exam at Bonds course and got my certificate from Coursera. This course, to be honest, was just a waste of time. Prof. Stolyarov just read the basic things about bond types and focused the entire course on solving problems about bond pricing and yield to maturity values. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
To make things worse, professor did not even mentioned that bonds prices are in percent from nominal value. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
What was really irritating is that problems were related in a vague manner and it took a couple of tries for each test to get the meaning. The forum was a really big help to solve these puzzles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What I really wanted to get from course was how to evaluate risk for each company issued bonds. But he just mentioned rating agencies what I’ve already knew from previouse cource. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
